Jane Foy, MD — Contributing Investigator

Jane Foy, MD, is a pediatrician and Professor of Pediatrics, and is chair of the American Academy of Pediatrics Task Force on Mental Health.  She has directed innovative projects at the local level to create systems that integrate primary care and mental health services for children, with a focus on developing service capacity in low-resource areas.  She has also been active at the state level, helping North Carolina adopt innovative programs that support a role for primary care in the children’s mental health system.  This includes her active participation in ICARE, the North Carolina state initiative promoting integrated mental health and medical care.  She and Dr. Wissow collaborated on a pilot project testing regional collaboration between psychiatrists and pediatricians around mental health skills training.  In addition to providing expertise in practice and system-level issues and state-level organizing, Dr. Foy is the Center’s primary interface with organized pediatrics.  She coordinates linkages with the American Academy of Pediatrics and co-leads the Dissemination component of the Operations Core with Dr. Pruitt.
