The Office of the Treasurer is part of the Office of the Senior Vice President for Finance and Administration and reports directly to the Senior Vice President for Finance and Administration. It is staffed by ten full-time professionals with expertise in all aspects of treasury, finance and risk management. The overall goal of the Office of the Treasurer is to protect and grow the balance sheet through effective management of University financial assets and liabilities and protection against risk of loss. The Office of the Treasurer oversees a variety of financial and risk management responsibilities and has primary responsibility for treasury operations, cash management, banking & rating agency relationships, debt issuance, debt management, administration of financial gifts-in-kind, management of operating funds, risk management and property and casualty insurance programs. The Office works on a routine basis with many administrative offices of the University and is available to support all offices, departments and divisions. It participates regularly with Board of Trustee Committees and manages external relationships with banks, rating agencies, insurers, brokers, Maryland Health and Higher Educational Facilities Authority and other financial, insurance and advisory services. |
