After over one hundred years on campus, the Beta Mu Chapter of Phi gamma Delta holds a long-standing tradition at The Johns Hopkins University. Founded in the late nineteenth century, the brothers of FIJI have been a strong group on campus. The chapter is comprised of various types of students. For example, the lacrosse players, soccer players, baseball players, wrestlers, and football players in the fraternity play a huge role in the school's varsity sports. Yet there are more than just varsity athletes in FUI; many of the brothers participate in club sports such as ice hockey and soccer. In the classroom, FIJI maintains a GPA above the school average. In addition, the brothers participate in many community service activities such as tutoring. It isn't just all work and no play; the brothers take part in a wide variety of social events including a formal, a date party, mixers, holiday parties, Wednesday Night Festivities, and of course The FIJI Islander. The Islander has always been recognized as one of the best social events Hopkins offers. This year the brothers of Beta Mu are very optimistic about the future and strength of the fraternity. This past year the brothers added a second boarding house for younger brothers and are currently searching for a new and bigger chapter house. FIJI is continuing to make great strides, but as always the strength of the fraternity lies in the closeness of its brothers. Come meet us during rush week.
