Commencing in 1994, the JHU chapter of Sigma Alpha Epsilon has progressed dramatically, leading up to a full-fledged chartering on October 18th, 1997. In these three years, an interest group of 21 undergraduates evolved into one of the most dominant groups on campus.
Academically, the brotherhood has excelled in Hopkins' challenging forum. The cumulative brotherhood grade point average remains around 3.1. Our academic strength results in alumni attending such prestigious graduate schools as Columbia, Cornell, MIT, Scripps, in addition to brothers continuing their education at JHU at the graduate level.
The brothers of SAE are leaders on campus and in the community. From student tutoring to Resident Advising, the brothers of SAE are involved in many extracurricular groups. In fact, four out of the nine chairpersons of Orientation were brothers of SAE.
Since SAE's appearance on campus, no other fraternity has won the BIA championship. During the past three seasons, SAE has taken home the overall championship and won last year's football season. Additionally, brothers compete and excel in varsity and club athletics through wrestling, soccer, crew, football, baseball, lacrosse, and rugby.
The brotherhood of SAE at JHU is the tightest, most active group on campus. A diverse band, our brothers come from as far as Taiwan. Also, SAE's strength nationally has made it largest fraternity with over 205 chapters and 250,000 initiates.
