Phi Delta Theta is well on it's way to establishing its Maryland Delta Chapter at Johns Hopkins University. Started in the late fall of 2008, Phi Delta Theta at JHU was founded as an interest group of the General Fraternity by current undergraduates. This spring, the interest group is recruiting deserving men to be Founding Fathers. Phi Delta Theta is looking for men that exemplify the qualities of Friendship, Sound Learning, and Rectitude; men who are involved on campus, are gentlemen, strive to attain academic excellence, excited about creating school spirit, and want to give back to both the Homewood and Baltimore communities. Mission Statement: Phi Delta Theta was organized with three principle objectives: The cultivation of friendship among its members, the acquirement individually of a high degree of mental culture, and the attainment personally of a high standard of morality. Vision Statement: We, the men of the Maryland Delta Colony of Phi Delta Theta at Johns Hopkins University pledge ourselves to the following principles: Redefining Fraternity: To embody the cardinal principles of Phi Delta Theta set forth by the Immortal Six as we redefine common misconception through sound moral action. Development: To cultivate and maintain the highest standards of organizational and personal well-being through advancement of mental acuity and strong leadership. Involvement: To further the causes of social, economic, and moral progress as active, selfless, and leading members of the Johns Hopkins and greater Baltimore community. Diversity: To foster an acceptance of all people regardless of culture, creed, and ideals, to bring together prodigious gentlemen from all walks of life, and to uphold a brotherhood that represents a wide variety of interests and activities on campus Chivalry: To instill and uphold the unwavering nature of the indomitable spirit of integrity through the strengthening of compassion towards others, and upholding all tenets of honor. |
