General Information- Anyone affiliated with the Johns Hopkins University Homewood campus (student, faculty, administration, staff, alumni, etc.) may nominate an organization or program.
- Only registered and active Johns Hopkins University Homewood campus student organizations are eligible.
- No limit is placed on the number of nominations submitted by one person; however, each nomination form must be submitted separately for each organization or program.
- Nominations for all awards are due Monday, April 2, 2012 to the Office of Student Activities, Mattin Center 131.
- Each individual or organization nominated for an award will be notified. The Leadership Recognition Awards Ceremony and Reception will take place on Monday April 23, 2012 in the Charles Commons Ballroom.
Awards and CriteriaThe Office of Student Activities Outstanding Program Award is presented to the Homewood student organization whose creative and unique program or event set the standard for quality programming at Johns Hopkins University. The following points are evaluated for this award:· Any program (i.e. social, recreational, educational, cultural, fund raising) that is original, · Benefits the organization membership, the University and/or the community, · Is successful in publicity and promotion, · Encourages organizational participation and teamwork, · Uses effective pre-planning and facilitation, · Demonstrates successful evaluation of program for future success. The Office of Student Activities Outstanding Student Organization Award is presented to the Homewood student organization which has made outstanding contributions to the campus community that are considered to be above the expectations of a student organization. The following points are evaluated for this award:· The student organization displays vision and takes initiative to begin tasks that will influence positive change on campus, · Is successful in collaboration between campus and community, · Effectively plans and implements ongoing programs and student involvement, · Demonstrates organizational participation and teamwork, · Encourages leadership development in all members. The Office of Student Activities Outstanding Student Organization Advisor Award is presented to the Homewood student organization advisor who has made significant contributions to benefiting the membership of his or her organization. The following points are evaluated for this award:· The organization advisor continually goes above and beyond his or her normal duties in order to assist the student membership, · Demonstrates commitment and dedication to the organization, · Encourages the development of leadership abilities in all members of the organization, · Continually serves the best interest of the students. The Office of Student Activities Outstanding Student Organization President Award is presented to the Homewood student organization president (or equivalent title) who has led his or her organization effectively and efficiently, thus raising the bar for student organizations. The following points are evaluated for this award: · The student organization president leads his or her organization to success, · Encourages the development of leadership within the organization, · Fosters a positive environment, · Continually strives to ensure that his or her organization is benefiting the university as a whole.
The Office of Student Activities Awards Nomination FormNomination Rules: - Nominations are restricted to registered Johns Hopkins University Homewood student organizations.
- No nominations may be based solely upon services for which the organization has received or will receive financial compensation.
- Incomplete nomination forms may be omitted from consideration.
- Self-nominations will only be accepted for the Outstanding Program and Outstanding Student Organization Awards
