Mural Boards
The mural boards behind the Mattin Center are available to any recognized student group on campus for a period of up to two weeks. Paint, paintbrushes, paint rollers, and tarps are provided at no charge and are located in cabinets in the basement of Whitehead. These supplies may not be used to paint banners for the breezeway.
Mural Boards
Mural board reservations can be made by contacting the Office of Student Activities in Mattin Center (Ross Jones North) room 131 at 410-516-3478 or via email at studentactivities@jhu.edu. If supplies or paint need to be replenished, tell the Office of Student Activities staff.
Paint Supplies
The supplies for painting the mural boards are kept in a locked metal cabinet in the basement of Whitehead next to the boards. Groups may access to these supplies by visiting Mattin Center (Ross Jones North) 131. Anyone interested in using the paint supplies must provide contact information. We will carefully monitor students who are using the supplies to ensure that the boards, paint, and supplies are not damaged, misused, or use in inappropriate ways.
1. Artwork and text must comply with University policy.*
2. Groups must use the latex paint provided by the Office of Student Activities.
3. Groups must use a drop cloth.
4. Groups are responsible for spills.
5. Groups must use the board that has been assigned to them.
6. Clean all materials (i.e. brushes and trays).
7. Return materials to paint closet located in the basement of Whitehead.
8. Return key to Mattin Center (Ross Jones North) 131.
9. Artwork can stay on the board for 2 weeks. After that it might be removed, depending on need.
* The mural must not contain material that is pornographic; harasses any individual or group on the basis of race, gender, national origin, religion or sexual orientation; contains a message of hate or a threat of violence; or otherwise violates University policy.
