Resources
The Office of Student Activities Offers many resources for our students. The following resources are examples of services which we provide:
Mail | Printing Services | Workspace | Meeting Space | Darkroom | Today's Announcement's | Form Depository | Petty Cash Pick-up | Bulletin Boards |Cash Boxes | Student Offices

All student groups should have a mail drop location on campus. The Office of Student Activities hosts mailboxes for over 200 student groups with the exception of the following:
Sports Organizations (located in the Recreation Center)
CSC Groups (located in the Center for Social Concern)
Graduate Student Groups (See the GRO)
We appreciate when groups check their mailboxes on a regular basis. If you do not have a mailbox and would like one please email studentactivities@jhu.edu.
The address to the student group mailboxes is as follows:
Group Name
JHU Office of Student Activities
3400 N. Charles St., Mattin Center, Suite 210
Baltimore, MD 21218
Make sure that outside parties fill out the entire name of the group and not just the acronym. When our staff has to sort through so much mail it makes it much easier for us to decipher where mail goes if we know the entire name of the organization.
Printing Services
The Office of Student Activities has a Xerox machine located in the back of the building for student group use.

If you are interested in using color paper, please approach one of our student Monitors, located at the front of the building.

Student groups are allowed to use 100 sheets of color paper per day.

Example of how much print jobs cost:
$3.50 (will produce up to 50 b/w or 17 color)
$7.00 (will produce up to 100 b/w or 35 color)
$35.00 (will produce up to 500 b/w or 175 color)
$70.00 (will produce up to 1000 b/w or 350 color)
Black and White copies are $0.07/copy and color copies are $0.20/copy.
Only officers listed on the student group registry page should be using the copier. The money for each copy will be taken directly out of your student group budget each month, so please make sure to have your budget number handy when you come in. If you are not sure what your budget number is, you can find it on your group admin page.
As a comparison, copies at the Charles Village Fedex/Kinkos are black and white $0.10/copy and for color $0.59/copy. Some groups may be eligible for reimbursements for your copies at Fedex/Kinkos or other printing locations based on how your budget was allocated through the SAC or other governing body.
Workspace

The Office of Student Activities went through a major redesign in 2008 to make our lobby space more inclusive for all students/student groups. We currently have a dozen desks for students to work on group projects, homework, or whatever else they would like to do.
Our office spaces might be one of Hopkins best kept secrets. We are centrally located, close to several restaurants and the desk space provide a bit of privacy from the outside world. We have students who hang out in the office from 8:30-5:00 pm or sometimes just stop by for a quick lunch at one of our tables. Whatever your preference is, we invite you to share our space. The Office of Student Activities Lobby is open during the following times:
Monday-Thursday: 8:30 am-Midnight
Friday: 8:30 am-10:00 pm
Saturday: 10:00 am-10:00 pm
Sunday: Noon- Midnight
Please note that the Office of Student Activities building hours are subject to change and will implement different building hours during University holidays and the following time periods:
Summer
Intersession
Thanksgiving Break
Spring Break
If you have questions about our lobby please feel free to contact us at studentactivities@jhu.edu.
Meeting Space

Many student groups use our “Blue Couch” area to conduct their student group meetings. The blue couches are not available by reservation, but on a first-come-first-serve basis.
Darkroom

In order to use our Darkroom, a student must first obtain a permit. Permits may be purchased in the Photo Lab Office located in Room 114, MaCauley. Permits are $30.00 per semester, and $50.00 per year. For more information about any of the Darkrooms on campus please contact Jay Van Rensselaer or Will Kirk at 410-516-5332.

Are you expecting a petty cash voucher? Petty cash vouchers are reimbursements for under $100.00. If your group has submitted a petty cash voucher on your behalf, you will be notified when it is ready for pickup via the email that was provided on the Financial Transaction Request form. Petty cash vouchers can be picked up in the Office of Student Activities from 8:30 am-4:30 pm Monday-Friday.
Once you have received your petty cash voucher, you will need to take it to the Petty Cash Office located in the basement of Garland Hall (right next to Student Employment). The Petty Cash Officer will give you cash for your voucher. They are open Monday through Thursday from 10 am to 2 pm.
Please make sure that you have your J-Card in order to obtain your petty cash voucher and cash.
Bulletin Boards
The Office of Student Activities has several bulletin boards for students to post announcements for their student group events. There are three bulletin boards in the Office of Student Activities lobby, and two bulletin boards on the exterior of the building.

Please note that announcements may only be posted for JHU recognized student groups and programs. Anything not affiliated with the university will be taken down immediately. Please remember to use thumb tacks when posting; never use staples. For more information about policies regarding postering on campus, please click here.

Cash Boxes
Need somewhere safe to keep your group's money during a fundraising event? The Office of Student Activities has cash boxes available for groups to check out for short periods of time. If you would like to borrow a cash box, have your groups President or Treasurer stop by the Office of Student Activities in Mattin Center 131.
