Recreation Center Membership Card Anyone with a Hopkins J-Card (blue card) or a JHMI ID Badge (blue & gold card) will have their card activated as their Recreation Center Membership Card. Those without either a Hopkins J-Card (blue card) or a JHMI ID Badge (blue & gold card) will be issued an O’Connor Recreation Center Membership Card (white card). If a Member with a JHMI ID Badge (blue & gold card) wishes to purchase a Guest Pass beyond Recreation Office Hours they will need to purchase an O’Connor Recreation Center Membership Card from the Recreation Office. O’Connor Recreation Center Membership Cards cost $15. Replacement Membership Card: $15. General Membership Fee: $180/year from September to August (This fee is for all JHU: Faculty, Staff, JHMI, affiliates, spouses and Student of the School of Education, Peabody, School of Nursing, School of Medicine, School of Public Health, Carey Business School, & SAIS.) Alumni Membership Fee: $265/year from January to December Alumni Spouse Membership Fee: $205/year from January to December The Recreation Center Membership Fee includes access to the O'Connor Recreation Center including the JHU Pool, Climbing Wall, Lockerrooms, Basketball Courts, Racquetball/Squash Courts, Fitness Center and Weight Room. The Fee also includes use of recreation equipment available for check-out from the Equipment Room. The Recreation Center Fee does not include fees for Fitness Passes, Personal Training, Aquatic & Safety Training Programs, Swim Lessons, Locker Rental, Towel Service, and any other additional programs. School of Arts & Sciences and School of Engineering Full-Time Undergraduate and Graduate Students: The Recreation Center Membership Fee is included in the tuition for all current School of Arts & Sciences and School of Engineering Full-Time Undergraduate and Graduate Students. Biomedical Engineering (BME) Students & Post Docs: The Recreation Center Membership Fee is included in the tuition for all current Biomedical Engineering (BME) Students & Post Docs; however they must visit the Recreation Office every year to activate their Recreation Membership Card. JHU Faculty, Staff, and Retirees: All Faculty, Staff, and Retirees of Johns Hopkins University are eligible to purchase a Membership to the O'Connor Recreation Center. This includes Johns Hopkins University Homewood, Peabody, School of Medicine, School of Public Health, School of Nursing, School of Education, Carey School of Business, Bayview Medical Center, Johns Hopkins Hospital, School of Advanced International Study (SAIS), Advanced Academic Programs (AAP), Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions, and the Applied Physics Lab (APL). Other Affiliates: Other affiliates eligible to purchase a Membership to the O'Connor Recreation Center are the Baltimore Museum of Art (employees only), Carnegie Institution of Washington, Gertrude’s @ The BMA (employees only), The Hopkins Club (employees only), Johns Hopkins Athletic Hall of Fame Members, Kennedy Krieger, Space Telescope Science Institute, and US Lacrosse (employees only), and spouses of faculty, staff, and students. Spouses: The affiliate of JHU must be a current Recreation Center Member for the Spouse to become a Member. JHU Alumni: Johns Hopkins University Alumni are eligible to purchase a Membership to the O'Connor Recreation Center provided they are current Alumni Association dues payers. The O'Connor Recreation Center is not open to the community for Membership. New Members: To become a Member you must visit the Recreation Office in person with a valid Hopkins J-Card (blue card) or JHMI ID Badge (blue & gold card) during office hours (Monday-Friday 9am-5pm). Renewing Members: Members who are renewing their current or expired Membership can renew either by visiting the Recreation Office or calling 410-516-5229. Credit Card only will be accepted for renewals over the phone. Spouses: The affiliate of JHU must be a current Recreation Center Member for the Spouse to become a Member. Spouses can visit the Recreation Office in person with the Member (or the Member's Recreation Center ID). Domestic Partners must have an affidavit filed with the Benefits Office in order to be eligible for a Spouse membership.
Members & Guests must comply with all facility policies and staff instructions. Guests must remain with the Member at all times. Guests must leave the facility at the same time as the sponsoring Member. Members will be held accountable for actions of their guests and for any damage to the facility or equipment. Misconduct by Guests may result in loss of the Member’s Recreation Center Membership. Recreation Staff reserve the right to revoke daily use, guest sponsorship or membership privileges at any time. Guest Pass Fee: $5/Guest/Visit Only current O’Connor Recreation Center Members may sponsor Guests. O’Connor Recreation Center Members may sponsor up to 2 Guests per visit. Guests must be at least 18 years of age and must have a valid Driver’s License or Passport at the time of entry into the facility. Members with a Hopkins J-Card (blue card) or an O’Connor Recreation Center Membership Card (white card) may purchase Guest Passes either at the Welcome Desk prior to entering the facility or in Recreation Office during office hours (Monday-Friday 9am-5pm). Members with a JHMI ID Badge (blue & gold card) may only purchase a Guest Pass during Recreation Office Hours (Monday-Friday 9am-5pm). Only J-Cash will be accepted beyond Recreation Office Hours. A credit card can be used to load J-Cash onto your J-Card, at the Welcome Desk. Cash or Check will NOT be accepted beyond Recreation Office Hours. If a Member with a JHMI ID Badge (blue & gold card) wishes to purchase a Guest Pass beyond Recreation Office Hours they will need to purchase an O’Connor Recreation Center Membership Card from the Recreation Office.
