Sailing

There's no better way to make a quick escape from everyday city life than to spend an afternoon out on the open water.  The sailing program goes to the Outer Harbor for their open enrollment trips. Whether you're a beginner looking to learn the ropes or a seasoned sailor wanting to go out racing, we'd love to take you with us. We'll provide transportation, all the equipment, and lessons in sailing fundamentals.

Trip Description

We use the Downtown Sailing Center located near the inner harbor.

Learn the fundamentals of sailing.  You will get quality instruction from fellow students who have years of experience. Each instructor will tailor to your specific sailing skill level wether it's your first time seeing water or you grew up on a boat.

You can also sign up in the Outdoor Pursuits Basecamp located in the rear of the Recreation Center to use cash or check.

Please make sure your medical and waiver forms are on file.  If not, please print, fill and hand these forms into the Basecamp office after registering for a trip.  These need to be in by 6pm the Thursday before the trip! You may also fill out these forms electornically and e-mail them to op@jhu.edu. 

Important!  If you have already filled out a medical form, you need to sign it electronically or visit the Basecamp by 6pm Thursday night to sign it again.  This shows that your form is up to date.

Meet at 3pm on your trip date at Basecamp (map can be found at www.jhu.edu/op)

We will be returning to Hopkins around 7pm.
