Outdoor Pursuits

Welcome to Johns Hopkins University Outdoor Pursuits!  We want to help you get outdoors having fun.  If you have never done an activity we will teach you everything you need to know or if you are an experienced outdoors fanatic we have trips that will continue to challenge you.  We are building a great outdoor community here in Baltimore and it would be awesome to have you join us.  Take a look through our web site, email or call if you have questions and sign up for a trip or two.

Outdoor Pursuits and Pre-Orientation Instructor Application Process Fall 2008

We would love to have you become an Outdoor Pursuits and Pre-Orientation Instructor.  This is the process you need to follow to be considered as an instructor:

1. Fill out APPLICATION by Oct. 3 5:00pm and turn into Outdoor Basecamp

2. Got to the Outdoor Instructor Interview on Oct. 6 (time will be announced)

3. If you are selected to go on a selection trip they are Oct.17 and 18 (details will be given to those selected for this trip)

In the winter of 2007 we moved to a new office space. Our new location offers visitors and participants greater access to our resources: an outdoor activity library and trip reports from past trips. We are now located in the rear of the Athletic Center! Come check it out!

We would like to thank the JHU Alumni Association for their generous grants that have helped our program purchase new climbing shoes, ropes, canoe floatation, and provide scholarships to participants and instructors seeking to enhance their outdoor skills. Thank you Alumni!!
