| | The Johns Hopkins climbing wall is open daily. Shoes are availble for rent for $1, and harnesses, ATCs and biners are free. We require that climbers fill out a waiver prior to climbing at the wall, and you must be 18 years of age or have the permission of your parent/guardian to climb. You must be a member of the Recreation Center to use our facilities. We offer a belaying class for beginning climbers to learn the necessary knots and techniques of climbing. No registration is necessary for the class, but you must show up on time. We hold two competitions a year. The fall top rope competition is held in November and the spring bouldering competition is held in April. There are three divisions - Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced. Prizes will be awarded and T-shirts are given to competitors on a first-come, first serve basis. There is a registration fee to participate in both of the competitions. |
