MISSION The Minority Pre-Health Conference will educate underrepresented students of color on education and career opportunities in the health professions. By providing workshop sessions, facilitating networking, and encouraging exploration, students will have a better understanding of health disciplines and a framework for reaching their career goals. PURPOSE The purpose of the Minority Pre-Health Professions Conference is to equip participants with knowledge of how to overcome barriers that may keep them from obtaining their career goals. Organized to direct the attention of under-represented minority students to health professions, this event will introduce college students to a wide variety of career opportunities. Medicine, dentistry, public health, nursing, veterinary medicine and other contributing members of the family of health professions will be represented. The Conference has been designed to allow students to learn about the responsibilities of health professionals as well as the means by which an aspiring student may prepare to enter into the study of a particular discipline. It is the intention of the organizers and participating guests to provide an abundance of information to students who are about to embark upon a health career.
