Programs and Services
Walk-ins
Pre-law walk-ins are 15 minute meetings. The Pre-Law Advisor generally holds walk-in sessions from 10:00 a.m. - 11:30 p.m. on Mondays and Thursdays. You can sign up for walk-ins on the scheduled walk-in date beginning at 9:00 a.m. Sign up must be done in person at the Office. A walk-in session is an opportunity to address relatively narrow topics. For example, during a walk-in, you can request a résumé review, ask if you have a "safety school" on your list, discuss personal statement topics or consider whether you should retake the LSAT. If you have broader concerns (e.g., Should I go to law school? How do I decide where to apply?), you should start with a 30 minute advising appointment.

Advising Appointments
Pre-law advising appointments are 30 minute meetings. In an advising session, the Pre-Law Advisor can, among other things, help you to decide whether law school is right for you, answer questions regarding the law school application process, review your résumé and personal statement and help you to generate a list of law schools that fits your needs. The Pre-Law Advisor generally holds appointments from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Mondays and Thursdays, and from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. & 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Wednesdays. To schedule an appointment, please stop by the front desk of the Office or contact the Office by phone.

Personal Statement Critiques
The Pre-Law Advisor will review and critique personal statements and supplementary application materials, including grade addendums, resumes, diversity statements, etc. To receive a critique, e-mail your statement to the Pre-Law Advisor at least two weeks prior to your scheduled pre-law advising appointment. Statements should only be forwarded when they are in near-final form. Your name, and LSAC number should appear at the start of your statement. Feedback will be given via email and can be expanded upon in a walk-in or scheduled appoinment.
