Preparing for Other Careers in Healthcare

Not all pre-health students seek careers in allopathic medicine (M.D.) or osteopathic medicine (D.O.).  Every year, students apply to schools of veterinary medicine, dental medicine, nursing, and other fields like pharmacy, physician assistant and optometry.  The Office of Pre-Professional Programs and Advising has developed planning guides to help students prepare for these various health profession schools.  Current health profession guides include:

Additional guides will be added but questions about any health profession can be directed to the Office of Pre-Professional Programs and Advising.  Advisors in the Pre-Professional Programs office are knowledgeable about a wide range of health professions and will help students with resources to become competitive health-profession school applicants.
