A small class of approximately 25 students ensures that we will become well acquainted with each individual, allowing us to provide excellent support. The post-bac program understands that completing an intensive year of science courses is difficult. As such, we are prepared to provide the best possible resources to support you throughout the year. There are abundant academic support services to assist students in being successful with their studies. Free tutoring is offered through the Office of Academic Advising and is targeted to many of the premedical courses in which you will be enrolled. In addition, the post-bac program hires former students to provide tutoring services and review sessions during the summer. His or her unique perspective and skills, after having been through the program the prior year, serve as a source of support to post-bac students. In addition, the post-bac program hires a physics tutor to serve the needs of the post-bac students. One-on-one contact with the director and assistant director of the program enables students to receive personalized guidance. In addition, the post-bac program offers a vast array of workshops for students in an effort to provide extensive information about the application and admissions process to medical school. The director also prepares a comprehensive premedical letter of evaluation for each student based on personal advising sessions and letters submitted by faculty and others from prior college work, volunteer experiences, and employment. |
