Information Services is supported by the Welch Medical Library and provides HPC faculty associates with timely and efficient access to a wide range of customized resources and services.
The main avenues for this support include:
Population Digital Library: Focusing on population and reproductive health information, this online resource provides access to full text electronic resources, including journals, books, bibliographic databases and sources for publicly available data sets. Visit: http://poplibrary.jhmi.edu/index.html.
Liaison Services: Librarians specially trained in population issues are available to assist associates with their information needs. Services include database and Internet searching, creating automatic information alerts (table of contents) and data gathering. Both individual and group assistance is available. Librarians are available by appointment and during regularly scheduled hours at the Information Suite. Appointments can be made by e-mail, see contact information below.
Information Suite: A designated meeting area that provides access to computer workstations, printers and a small conference room for meetings, presentations and consultation with liaison librarians. Wireless access is available.
Data Services: A skilled data librarian is available to answer statistical and dataset-related reference questions (e.g. does x dataset have y and z variables) as well as provide assistance in the acquisition of public and restricted-use datasets. Additional services include curriculum-tailored data workshops upon request and primary data dissemination and/or archiving/deposit assistance. Location Room E4643, 4th floor, 615 N.
