Graduate students with interests in the history and philosophy of science will receive their Ph.D. either from the Department of Philosophy or the Department of the History of Science, Medicine, and Technology, in accordance with each department's requirements. Students in both departments, however, may apply to enroll in a special program of studies in history and philosophy of science coordinated by the Johns Hopkins Center for History and Philosophy of Science. Students who fulfill requirements will be certified by the Center as having completed this special program.
