Mapping the Cosmos: Images from the Hubble Space Telescope

On view at The Walters Art Museum through July 27, 2008.

This unusual exhibition blends science and art with technology and wonder, inviting visitors to ponder the beauty and grandeur of the universe as captured by the Hubble Space Telescope.  "Mapping the Cosmos" was curated by seven students in the fall, 2007 Hopkins course "Behind the Scenes at the Walters Art Museum."  Working closely with experts from the Walters and the Space Telescope Science Institute, as well as with their instructors, Elizabeth Rodini and Benjamin Tilghman, the students studied the material of the exhibition, planned the installation, and wrote all the accompanying materials.

Read more about this exhibition and its creation in the Hopkins Gazette, the Baltimore Sun's Today section, the Sun's OpEd page, and on the website of the Hubble Space Telescope.
