VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR READING PROGRAMS AT BARCLAY SCHOOL
On March 3, 2009, the entire Barclay Elementary and Middle School will participate in  READING ACROSS AMERICA, a nationwide celebration of the birthday of Dr. Seuss.  Volunteers are needed to come to Barclay on March 3rd to read with a student.

There is also an ongoing reading incentive program, BOOKS-2-GO. Volunteers are needed to work as a "Reading Pal" to read aloud and/or be read to by one child.  The suggested time commitment is once a week or a few times a month for 20 to 45 minutes.  The time is flexible.

Contact Marilyn Tabb for details (read on)

ABOUT THE BARCLAY SCHOOL

For the last 13 years, the Woman’s Club volunteers have provided staff and supplies for the library at Barclay Elementary School in Baltimore City.  The library lost its staff and was in a total dysfunctional state when the club members stepped in to help.  There are about 15 volunteers (we need more help), each of whom devote at least 3 hours every other week to develop and present programs for students from pre-school to 5th grade.  The Woman’s Club provides significant financial support to the library to buy books and supplies… Please consider volunteering and or contributing to this important program.  For more information, please contact Marilyn Tabb at 410-889-9797.
