Samir holds a Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin and a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering from Florida Atlantic University. At Hyflux, Jinny was responsible for a wide spectrum of the group’s PR initiatives, including Corporate Branding & Image, Media Management & Relations, Marketing Communications, Publications, Events Management, Corporate Visits, Community Relations, and Corporate Sponsorships. Fernando has a very strong interest in investing, having attended classes and trade shows and has been investing his own money for five years. He developed the MS in Finance program in 2000 and was the program director as well as chair of the Finance Department until 2008. Also, he has been teaching corporate finance, investments, international finance, and financial modeling courses since 1989. He has won a university teaching award. He has done research in the area of mergers and acquisition, stock repurchases, market efficiency, insider trading, and valuation. He has published articles in leading journals such as Journal of Business, Journal of Financial Research, Journal of Portfolio Management, Journal of Business Finance and Accounting, The Quarterly Review of Economics and Finance, Journal of Applied Business Research, Financial Practice and Education, and Journal of Financial Education. He holds a Ph.D. in Finance from University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He was a tenured full professor at St. Cloud State University and was a visiting professor at Penn State before joining Johns Hopkins. |
