Teaching Opportunities

Each year, the Program in Expository Writing offers 40 or more topic-based writing seminars.  Limited to 15 students, Expos seminars are organized around four major essay assignments, each of which guides students’ practice through pre-writing, drafting, and revising, and includes in-class discussion, workshops, and individual conferences with the instructor.

Individual seminar topics range across the disciplines, reflecting the diverse disciplinary backgrounds of the 25-30 faculty—full-time lecturers and graduate-student teaching fellows—who teach in the Program.  Lecturers teach two seminars per term, usually on the same topic; graduate-student fellows teach one seminar per term.
