Graduate Program

The Krieger School of Arts and Sciences of Johns Hopkins University offers programs leading to the doctoral degree for East Asian specialists in a wide range of disciplines. These include history, anthropology, sociology, political science, history of science and technology, literature (through the Krieger School’s Humanities Center), and history of medicine (through the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine). Applicants for candidacy are admitted, funded, and trained through individual disciplinary departments. Students also receive support and guidance from the interdepartmental Committee on East Asian Studies, comprising eight faculty members engaged in important new work on China, Japan, and Korea in various disciplines.
