The Johns Hopkins University is committed to providing an accessible and welcoming learning environment for students with disabilities, while complying with federal, state and local disability regulations. The Office for Student Disability Services (SDS)... assists the University in compliance with the provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) and its 2008 Amendments, as well as Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, for full-time undergraduate and graduate students in the Krieger School of Arts and Sciences (KSAS) and the Whiting School of Engineering (WSE), advises prospective students, current students, and parents on the services available to students with disabilities at JHU and offers information on how to register with SDS, completes an intake process with students and collaborates with the University’s central ADA Compliance Officer for the review of documentation required for registration, ensures the provision of all academic accommodations authorized by the ADA Compliance Officer; communicates with students regarding their responsibilities in acquiring these accommodations and offers all necessary assistance with their delivery, acts as a liaison between registered students and their instructors, including the provision of an Accommodations Letter confirming the accommodations due, and provides advice and mentoring to registered students throughout their matriculation. |
