CogNeuro Research Lab

Investigator: Brenda Rapp

Krieger Hall 131

Research in the CogNeuro lab is primarily concerned with the study of the cognitive skills and brain activity of individuals who have suffered neurological injury or a developmental difference in order to further our understanding of cognitive processes, representations and their neural substrates. Brief descriptions of some of our projects are provided below:

Research Projects Currently Supervised by Brenda Rapp:

Orthographic representation and processing

  • An fMRI investigation of the neural substrates that support recovery of function in acquired dysgraphia (Manny Vindiola)
  • A behavioral and fMRI study of developmental dysgraphia (Nik Krumm)
  • A neuropsychological and computational study of serial order production (Ari Goldberg)
  • The neural substrates of written language production (Brian Glucroft)
  • Behavioral intervention in a case of progressive dysgraphia (Brian Glucroft)
  • The acquisition of written language in Williams Syndrome (Banchiamlack Dessalegn)

Phonological representation and second language learning

Spatial representation

  • Attention-centered spatial frames of reference: Evidence from visuo-spatial neglect (Jared Medina)

Representation and plasticity in the somatosensory system
