Participants needed for annual Hopkins holiday assistance programs.
This season, show compassion for those less fortunate by participating in one or both of the holiday assistance programs sponsored by the Faculty, Staff and Retiree Programs (FSRP) – the Vernon Rice Memorial Butterball Turkey and Adopt-a-Family Programs.
Now in its 16th year, the Vernon Rice Memorial Butterball Turkey Program provides Butterball Turkey gift certificates to pre-identified families in need. This program is named in honor of late Hopkins staff member, Vernon Rice, who began the effort. To participate, please send a check or money order payable to JHU Butterball, in $15 increments, to Faculty, Staff and Retiree Programs, Johns Hopkins at Eastern, 1101 E 33rd Street, Suite C100, Baltimore, MD 21218. Checks received by Nov. 14 will be given to families for Thanksgiving and checks received after November 13, but BEFORE Dec. 15 will be used to provide for families in need for December holidays. All contributions must be received by Dec. 15. For more information about the Vernon Rice Memorial Butterball Turkey Program, visit: http://hr.jhu.edu/fsrp/butterball.cfm . The Adopt-a-Family / Adopt-an-Agency Program provides families and individuals with gifts, clothing and food that they might not otherwise be able to afford. Johns Hopkins faculty and staff adopt a pre-identified family or social service agency and collect gifts to match specific needs. These wish-lists are available to participating faculty, staff, or departments. To learn more about this program or to complete an online program registration form, visit: http://hr.jhu.edu/fsrp/adopt_fam.cfm . Contact Jackie Coe in FSRP at 443-997-6060 with questions about either program or go to http://hr.jhu.edu/fsrp/ and click on the link for Community Service. | |
