Free Workshops This Week at the Brown Foundation Digital Media Center
Check out the DMC from 6-8 p.m., every Sunday-Thursday, for a free Workshop on how to use all the free resources we have to offer. Up Next: Digital DJs and Virtual Vinyl, Final Cut Pro, Web Images with Photoshop, and Photo Printing Info Session!
Digital Media Center workshops are free and open to full-time undergraduate and graduate students on the Homewood campus. Faculty and staff may attend workshops as space allows. Digital DJs and Virtual Vinyl, Sunday, Nov. 8, 4 to 6 p.m. A New Technologies Special Event presented by the DMC: An introduction to DJ software and hardware available for checkout at the DMC. Bring your own music on CD or MP3 to mix into a continuous DJ set. Video Editing: Final Cut Pro, Monday, Nov. 9, 6 to 8 p.m. Learn how to edit your video project using Final Cut Pro on a Mac. This workshop will cover various topics such as digitizing video footage, working with different video sources and formats, adding transitions, effects and more. Web Images with Photoshop, Wednesday Nov. 11, 6 to 8 p.m. Improve your web appeal with elegant gra,phics and great design. Combine found imagery and original artwork to enhance your website. Learn about screen resolution and optimization for the web while creating page banners and backgrounds. Photo Printing Info Session, Thursday, Nov. 12, 6 to 6:30 p.m. Color calibration and printer profiles de-mystified! Come to this 30 minute demonstration to learn tips and techniques for better photo printing results. All workshops are held at the Brown Foundation Digital Media Center in Suite 226 of the Offit Building at the Mattin Center.
