Glenn BielerGlenn M. Bieler joined Johns Hopkins as vice president for communications in July 2011.

Bieler assumed a new position created in recognition of the importance of communications and marketing in strengthening the university's relationships with alumni, prospective students, parents, the local community and other external and internal audiences. He leads the Communications unit in the university's central administration and works to encourage collaboration among communications teams located throughout the university.

Before joining Johns Hopkins, he had since 2008 been associate vice president for university marketing and communications at Case Western Reserve University. He was responsible there for media relations, marketing, advertising, market research, internal communications, alumni and development communications and electronic media.

Previously, Bieler spent more than eight years with the Cleveland Clinic, the last two years as director of marketing and communications. A former practicing attorney, he began a transition into marketing and communications as international business development manager at Jones Day, one of the world's largest law firms.

Bieler is a 1989 graduate of New York Law School and earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1983 at the University at Albany of the State University of New York.

Tricia Schellenbach is director of communications. She oversees the editorial, design and production, and digital strategy teams, which work to tell the Johns Hopkins University story using new and conventional media. Before joining the Office of Communications in May 2012, she was director of communications at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland. There, she led media relations, internal communications and the university’s flagship magazine. She launched that university’s first online news website, which won a silver CASE award. Tricia also has worked at Cleveland Clinic and the Akron Beacon Journal, where she started her career as a copy editor and wine writer after graduating from Ohio University’s E.W. Scripps School of Journalism.

Glenn SimmonsGlenn Simmons, director of project management and account services, brings a wealth of experience in agency management, design and production. A member of the team since February 2007, he previously worked in Johns Hopkins Medicine Marketing and Communications as a senior project manager. Schools, centers and institutes take advantage of Glenn's 20-plus years of experience in building efficient business-to-business advertising and marketing campaigns on strategy, on budget and on time.

Megan MagagnaMeg Magagna is a project manager. A print production specialist, Meg works closely with both M&DS design staff and outside vendors. She touches every job, at all stages of production: gathering bids and meeting with clients at the outset; making sure deadlines are met and glitches resolved as production moves along; and finally seeing to it that the job is delivered on time. Meg's extensive knowledge of both conventional printing and digital document output often translates into significant cost savings for our clients; she has been with M&DS since 2000.

Gayle Hunter has been the administrative coordinator for Communications and Public Affairs, Media Relations, the Johns Hopkins Magazine and the Gazette since 1995. Prior to coming to Baltimore, Gayle was an elementary school library coordinator in Milwaukee and an accounts receivable supervisor at the University of Utah Marriott Library in Salt Lake City. Gayle attended Wayne State University in Detroit, majoring in instrumental education and voice performance.
