Dr. and Mrs. Brody wanted to send friends a desk calendar—but not a conventional one. The client suggested a format, and we developed the concept, based on a feature in Johns Hopkins Magazine, and wrote the copy. Each month of the calendar showed a JHU faculty member or student engaged in an activity far afield of their professional pursuits: a champion jump roper, a Leonardo scholar, a beekeeper, even the very talented dog of a department chair! It wasn't irreverent, but it was fun. It put a face on the university that isn't often shown.
