The Marshal Salant Student Investmeant Team provides Hopkins undergraduate students from the Whiting School of Engineering and the Krieger School of Arts & Sciences the opportunity to make actual investment decisions in managing a portfolio. By participating in this investment program, students will receive a unique business experience that will enhance their career opportunities. The program is organized as an extra-curricular activity and no credit is granted for participation.
A portion of the profits earned by the portfolio is dedicated to providing scholarship support for undergraduate students in the Schools of Engineering and Arts & Sciences. Ten to fifteen students, representing all classes, will be selected to manage the investment portfolio, with terms ending May 30, 2010 of the academic year. Approximately three to five of these students will be selected to form the executive committee. FRESHMEN AND SOPHOMORES ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED TO APPLY. Selection will be based on course background, experience, and merit. Top candidates will be interviewed in late February/early March, with final selections for the portfolio management team and executive committee to be announced toward the end of March. For further information, please contact Stacy Hernandez, stacy.hernandez@jhu.edu. The Marshal L. Salant Student Investment Program is jointly sponsored by the Whiting School of Engineering, the Zanvyl Krieger School of Arts & Sciences, and the JHU Treasurer's Office. |
