Extra Help for Students

Students who need additional help to meet the high standards of TDMG curriculum in math or reading attend accelerated-learning classes in addition to their regular classes. These ten-week “double dose” classes use cooperative groups and computers to provide intensive learning experiences. Students respond enthusiastically even though they miss an elective class for ten weeks in order to participate.

The Savvy Readers Lab and Computer and Team-Assisted Math Acceleration (CATAMA) Lab relieve the pressure on teachers to slow down teaching in heterogeneous classes because they know that students who need intensive extra help will receive it in the labs.
