Partner Discussion Guide catalog

TDMG Discussion Guides are available for over two hundred works of fiction, nonfiction, and poetry.  The centerpiece of the Student Team Literature program, Discussion Guides present students with questions about the literature which require them to think analytically and comparatively, to draw conclusions, and to analyze the plot, literary devices, and writer’s style and technique.  Guides are written for all reading levels, from selections appropriate for special education students to those with post-high school reading levels.  To view a catalog, click here.

Talent Development Writing Teacher’s Manual

The Talent Development Writing Teacher's Manual addresses the topics of modeling, conferring, teaching mini-lessons, designing “springboard activities” to help students generate content, and using cooperative learning. Talent Development Writing focuses on the process of teaching writing and integrates with Student Team Literature.

U.S. History Materials

TDMG has produced curriculum to accompany Joy Hakim's award-winning series A History of US.   Each volume of our Teaching Guide and Resource Book includes a rich selection of activities, reading strategies, primary source documents, cross curricular connections, review games, and assessments.  Oxford University Press distributes the Teaching Guides and Resource Books. To order from Oxford’s website, click here.

Other Materials

TDMG has created teaching materials to accompany the first two volumes in Joy Hakim’s The Story of Science: Aristotle Leads the Way and Newton at the Center. These volumes cover the history of scientific development from the ancient Greeks to the dawn of the twentieth century. Lesson plans include hands-on activities, integrated reading strategies, review lessons, assessments, and multidisciplinary connections to extend each lesson. These materials will be available in fall 2007 from Smithsonian Books.  To visit Smithsonian Books, click here.
